The Emma L. Bowen Foundation

With support from more than 75 corporate and nonprofit partners, the Emma L. Bowden Foundation recruits promising students of color and places them in multi-year paid internships at some of the nation’s leading media, PR and technology companies, providing them with a pipeline of young talent and emerging leadership. In addition, they advocate for best practices in diverse hiring, retention, and advancement. Over their nearly 30-year history, the Emma Bowen Foundation has provided internships for almost 1,000 students of color.

National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC)

Founded in 1980, the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) is the premier organization that educates, advocates and empowers for multi-ethnic diversity in the communications industry. NAMIC partners with the country’s leading media companies to help facilitate the personal and professional development of individuals from entry-level to the C-Suite. NAMIC’s success stems from their ability to provide the resources that allow their members to cultivate their individual careers.

Founded in 1993, the mission of the T. Howard Foundation is to promote diversity in media and entertainment by increasing the number of diverse and underrepresented groups and underserved communities within the industry. The mission is accomplished via three comprehensive programs for diverse college students: 1) an internship program that provides a professional work experience within the industry, 2) a professional development program that prepares students for careers in the industry, and 3) a diversity advancement program that assists partner companies in their efforts to secure the best diverse talent for their needs.

Serving more than 10,000 members across the media, WICT is the largest and most renowned organization representing women in the industry. Since WICT’s creation in 1979, their mission has been to create women leaders who transform our industry. They accomplish this through highly acclaimed training and development programs designed to develop women at every professional level. In addition, WICT advocates for women in the industry by commissioning gender diversity research and sharing proven diversity and inclusion tactics.
