You Belong at MIDCO

Message from our partner

You belong at Midco. These are words that matter. And they’re a priority at Midco. We connect our diversity, inclusion and equity through Belonging. Our mission is to: Create an environment of belonging where all team members feel safe, have a voice, and can be themselves.

To ensure our mission is achieved, a Belonging council and allies help create and implement people-centered strategies. In addition, Midco has deep partnerships with the Walter Kaitz Foundation and several other organizations, including People of Color Careers™ Social Hiring Network, Leaders of Tomorrow, NAMIC, WICT, and Sioux Empire Women Connect (SEWC) to assist us in elevating our Belonging intentions.

This work and these partnerships are a natural progression of Midco’s commitment to be an innovative and inclusive company. We provide service to more than 460,000 homes and businesses across the Midwest, with team members living and working in the communities we serve in Kansas, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Midco has expanded opportunities for team members to work remotely and in hybrid situations, allowing us to hire a larger, more diverse pool of top talent – beyond our five-state footprint. We’re committed to attracting team members from underrepresented groups through virtual work opportunities, growth and development plans, and purposeful engagement.

Belonging begins with each of us, with Midco’s company culture. We kicked off Q4 with our annual Women’s Leadership Summit, and throughout 2021, we brought awareness and education to many Belonging topics and notable occasions through internal storytelling. We also introduced a Belonging Learning Library to provide team members ease of access to resources, materials and tools.

As Midco implements our Fiber Forward initiative and other strategies for growing our fiber network and team, we know we must continue fostering an environment of belonging that aligns with Midco values: We treat people with dignity and respect.
