Diversity Week 2018

What the industry has embraced over the decades is the value of diversity as a business imperative and how that can lead to attracting and retaining talent. In the current business environment, this focus by companies can be a key to attracting professionals into the workforce. This is even more critical as Millennials move into the growing industry. They, in particular, value diversity and inclusion and tend to be drawn more towards companies that foster inclusion and diversity.

According to Cohen, the telecommunications industry “remains significantly ahead of industries like Silicon Valley and this gives us a competitive advantage in attracting Millennials who would otherwise be inclined to go to tech companies.””

Activities for Diversity Week 2018 will be headquartered at the New York Marriott Marquis and will include these key events:

WICT Leadership Conference – October 15 & 16 The 2018 WICT Leadership Conference takes place on Monday, October 15 and Tuesday, October 16. One of the highlights of the Conference will be the WICT Touchstones Luncheon taking place on Monday, October 15, where the organization will recognize the Woman of the Year and Women to Watch honorees.

32nd Annual NAMIC Conference – October 16 & 17 This day and a half gathering has evolved into the industry’s premier conference focused on diversity and inclusion as a business priority. The conference features an agenda focused on programming, marketing, operations, technology, leadership development, and creating institutional diversity strategies.
