Connections matter. That’s why The Walter Kaitz Foundation works year-round to introduce the cable industry to vendor companies owned by women and people of color.
We call it the Supplier Diversity Initiative. At industry gatherings like The Cable Show and the Cable-Tec Expo, the Foundation holds complimentary workshops designed for industry procurement professionals and Women and Minority Business Enterprises (that’s WMBEs in procurement parlance).
For procurement officers, the Supplier Diversity Connection workshops deliver detailed advice and tips about identifying and working with WMBEs within the cable industry. Workshops typically feature peer professionals who share information and offer guidance about procurement strategies and policies.
For WMBE representatives, the workshops provide networking opportunities and introductions to prospective customers. The workshops also help WMBE owners understand the intricacies of winning contracts and developing lasting strategic business alliances with cable industry participants.
Our goal is to promote increased spending by member companies with WMBE suppliers each year.
