The Walter Kaitz Foundation presented its fifth annual Millennials Master Class on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, during the NCTA Cable Show at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Kicking off the program was keynote speaker David Rone, President, Time Warner Cable Networks and Time Warner Cable Sports who was interviewed by Shaun Robinson, the illustrious host of Access Hollywood and author of the best-selling book, Exactly As I Am.
Other featured speakers included, Andrea Berry, Senior Vice President, Broadcast Media Services, Fox Networks; Mark Depietro, Vice President, Business Development, ARRIS; Art Evans, Director of Enterprise, Workplace Initiatives and Inclusion, Turner Broadcasting Systems; Zenita Henderson, Senior Marketing Manager, ARRIS; and Michael Quigley, Vice President, Business Development & Multiplatform Distribution, Turner Broadcasting Systems.
Debra Langford, CEO, The Langford Company, served as facilitator of the day-long program which was attended by more than 100 high-potential college students, representing multi-ethnic backgrounds from Los Angeles area schools.
Students were privy to a slate of presentations from key cable executives included the opening panel on “Getting Your Point Across Quickly” and two follow-up sessions that covered Technical/Engineering & Business and Human Resources. Speakers from various functional disciplines provided students with a unique inside look at some of the cable industry’s most recent business trends and burgeoning career opportunities. Students were also treated to a Networking Lunch and a tour of the cable industry’s vibrant exhibitor floor. Participating companies meanwhile gained access to a high-caliber and diverse talent pool of Millennials for potential internships and hiring opportunities.
