On behalf of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) I invite you to reunite with your extended family for the 40th Annual Convention in Nashville, Tennessee, March 26 – 30, 2014. Why are we calling convention a “family reunion” this year? It’s because almost the entire NSBE family will be unified under one roof at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, where the main hotel and convention center is in one massive complex. I’m confident you will agree this will be one of the most beautiful and memorable convention sites NSBE has ever been to! What makes a great family reunion? Sharing good times, good food, and good music together. We’ve got all three covered and at what better place than Music City, USA? Nashville’s rich history coupled with good old southern charm and an eclectic, thriving music scene make it the best choice for our historical convention. Our theme this year is NSBE40: Engineering and Leadership in Harmony. We are going to dust off the old photo album and show you how our family has grown and exemplified engineering and leadership over the past four decades of convention. Our programmatic focus will be music and technology. We are excited to bring you unique content to expose you to engineering while igniting your passion for music. And last but not least we will have dedicated programming to directly strengthen chapters; the source for developing our leaders and foundation of the NSBE family. We will be kicking off convention with the official NSBE Family Reunion event Wednesday afternoon so be sure to arrive early so you don’t miss out. Please visit the NSBE Career Fair where over 300 companies typically attend. The inaugural NSBEpreneur Fair is dedicated to technology start-ups and highlighting our many talented members who have become entrepreneurs. Also check out the 2nd annual NSBE Showcase to learn and play with cutting edge music technology, take lessons, show off your talents, witness amazing innovations from fellow NSBE members, and much more.
