Diversity of Thought: What is it and How do You Leverage It?


The way each of us thinks, interprets and negotiates the world around us is informed by our identity, culture and experience. These influences lead to diversity of thought. Diversity of thought, possibly the final frontier of diversity, is the idea that there is more than one way to think about and accomplish things. Being able to leverage diversity of thought is key to creating an organizational culture of inclusion. This article discusses the concept of diversity of thought, the relationship between diversity,creativity and innovation, and how to leverage this form of diversity in your organizations to create a culture of inclusion and excellence.
